While its freshness and bent to brightness steer it away from heavier dishes, it will shine when matched up with milder meats or seared ahi tuna.

2007 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
87 pts (one puff), Connoisseurs Guide June 2009: Bright, strawberry-like elements merge with the expected varietal themes of ripe cherries and a touch of brushy spice in the nose here and are carried forward in the wine's rounded, mid-density flavors. Withal a fairly straightforward Pinot that shows little in the way of real complexity, it wins recommendation by way of its accessible fruit and will likely show at its best when drunk up while still young.

91 pts (two puffs), Connoisseurs Guide June 2009: Long and concentrated, well-ripened fruit and fit with a good bit of rich oak, this weighty, impressively stuffed Pinot Noir is nicely balanced and surprisingly vital for the big wine that it is. While it is arguably a touch simple just now, it shows the substance and depth to make us believers in its future, and it is destined for very good things as its opens and expands when allowed some three to five years of bottle aging.
